We use USPS, UPS and DHL. Rates are based on current service rates and are subject to change. For the majority of items we ship in deluxe padded bubble mailers with bags and boards for added protection or with cardboard book mailers. Larger orders will be finely packed as well. The Classic Game Set contains the same game as the Classic Fantasy Rules Tome, just presented in a 5 book set for those who share our love of RPG box sets! The Old-School Essentials Classic Game Set + the Advanced Expansion Set also contains the same game as the Advanced Fantasy Player’s + Referee’s Tomes.
The Basic/Expert game which Old-School Essentials is based on was published in 1981 — 40 years ago! In celebration of this anniversary, we're delighted and honoured to announce that Erol Otus, legendary creator of the original B/X covers, has painted a brand new cover for the Old-School Essentials Classic Game Set!
I hate leaving reviews that are not about the actual product, but I don’t know what else to do in these circumstances. I ordered this set over two weeks ago. It hasn’t shipped and all my polite inquiries to support have gone completely unanswered. OSE is a great system and I’m sure the books are premium quality, but I honestly only bought them because I like to support smaller publishers. $80 is a considerable sum for me to spend on a luxury, and it sucks to be in this situation.
Material is high quality and the books are easy to navigate. It's nice to have the various sections broken out for use around the table for me and my players.
These small books pack a mean punch, laying out details and information nicely (and feel great, too!) I like having each volume opened to certain pages for reference during gameplay, or just bringing one to read up on at a coffee shop.
This product is great. It is an homage to the classic 80's basic and expert fantasy tabletop RPG, and it is just what I love about old school gaming.
It showed up in great quality. Can’t wait to run this with my friends.
