Good heavens! What's this doing in a silly gaming catalogue?
This is a fully licensed educational programme for serious students of History.
It is by no means a comprehensive manual for running imaginative, Mediaeval-themed role-playing games lovingly ripped off from the works of Monty Python.
About the book:
Betwixt these firm yet supple covers, one shall find everything one needs to experience the joy of Mediaeval study, from character creation and factions to ready-to-run quests and monsters – including the French! One need not be familiar with Monty Python’s work, nor is experience with ‘role-playing games’ required. If you have experience with the latter, you are probably too silly a person to participate and should stop reading immediately.
Features:
- An original rules-lite gaming system with spam.
- Guidance on designing adventures with spam.
- Ready-to-run quests, spam, and guidance on designing one's own adventures.
- Character creation, spam, bestiary, spam, and Dramatis Personae sections.
- Tables for generating all sorts of things with spam.
- Original hand-painted illumination
- 6.2% more spam.

I love this so much
So the book is great. I recommend it if you are fan of Monty python. Not sure it’s really a campaign game, but it’s a perfect one shot or short campaign game. It feels like a monty python production. (If you ever saw the monty python books it captures that exact feel).
However my copy took over a month to arrive (took a month to ship) and was damaged when it arrived. Exalted Funeral (of course) have totally ignored my support requests. So I strongly suggest if you do want to get it; get it from somewhere that cares about their customers.
I bought this because I planned to run it for the one time a year my friends from all over the country get together to play in person. I planned on getting all the accessories as gifts for the players, but waiting five weeks (the message about delayed orders wasn't on their site at that time) and never hearing from Exalted Funeral killed all my enthusiasm.
The game has a lot of interesting concepts and the art is great. I do think it might be difficult to run for GMs with zero experience or only D&D 5e. The dice are truly “custom”, so even if you play Dungeon Crawl Classics you don’t have all the dice needed.
I think it is a good purchase for a Python fan, even if it never makes it to the table.
I’m personally not going to run it because Exalted Funeral screwed me again. I still had some goodwill for them after they totally fumbled my Black Friday order, but now I will avoid using them whenever I can.
Ton of fun. Would highly recommend.
Exactly as described and was the perfect gift for my son!
