Your letter filled me with elation and trepidation in equal measure. Elation to hear of your progress in finding a cure for our our condition; trepidation on your investigation of the motivations of the Society that permits our correspondence. I beseech you to proceed with caution, as I have dire news of my own—news that threatens the very existence of our kind.
