A Bloody Cute TTRPG

I grew up watching shows like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, so when I learned about Daisy Chainsaw, I had to get it. The elevator pitch is basically this: you (and a group of friends) take on the roll of average everyday school girl(s), get recruted by a magical mascot, and fight the forces of evil as a "Magical Girl", all while trying to balance your everyday school life(s) and trying to keep your secret identity a secret!

The rules are simple and straight forward, and some of the game mechanics are super cool, for example: the detailed leveling weapon system (with each weapon having it's own Traits and Quirks); the "Burnout Pool" system - a fun team based spell-slot-esc mechanic; and the "Push Your Limits" system, which harnesses the power of friendship (and being in mortal danger).

The book itself is beautifully illustrated in a bloody pixel art style, and an easy to read layout. The quality of the physically printed book is quite nice – it's a spiral bound notebook (it'll take you back to your school days), printed on a nice semi-gloss paper. The cover likes to hold onto finger prints, but they can be mostly wiped off.

My only personal complaint is that I wish that there were some randomized tables to help spark "Episode" ideas or help generate (non-magical girl) enemies, or even loot tables. Again, this is just my personal opinion.

All that being said, I was more than happy to support Daisy Chainsaw and it's creators, and I can say in all honesty that I am a satisfied customer!
