A Thousand Thousand Islands - Everything Bundle + PDF

A porous, patchwork reality -- where rice grows in blood-red paddies, where princesses romance their spears, where it is a bad idea to mispronounce a crocodile’s name.

A THOUSAND THOUSAND ISLANDS is a series of zines, designed for use in fantasy adventure tabletop RPGs. Ongoing since 2017, this project draws from the overlapping material cultures, lived stories, and mythistories of that region of the world variously called Indochina, Suvarnabhumi, and the Nusantara -- Southeast Asia.

"And so the old kingdom was punished, and so the old kingdom fell.

Its conquerors have rebuilt no walls, no bridges. Only this gateway: two grand, gaping maws, rising from the lake. Marking the entrance to Mr-Kr-Gr, the Death-rolled Kingdom, the Dismembered Land, who the common folk call Place of Crocodiles.

Be welcome. Watch for shapes lurking in the water."

A Thousand Thousand Islands — in a single bundle.

This bundle includes all the zines to date.

Setting zines — small gazetteers that sketch out a single people or place; its needs and desires; its songs; how it relates to itself, and others — are the core of A THOUSAND THOUSAND ISLANDS. They do not come with detailed adventure modules, but they present enough information so you and your players might feel tempted to visit, to find out what these islands are like.

They are:

MR-KR-GR — A river kingdom, ruled by divine crocodiles.
KRACHING — A woodworking community, where cats are holy.
UPPER HELENG — A nomad people, that walks among their gods.
ANDJANG — A highland kingdom, ruled by a fearful queen.
STRAY VIRASSA — An island of sorcerers and the shipwrecked dead.
KORVU — A sea nation,  annually drowned during the rainy season.
NGELALANGKA — A market in the mountains, built on the backs of puppets.
HUNDRED RED SCALE — An archipelago of monitor lizards, where textiles are worship.

Appendix zines — notes and images, about specific or random subjects. These are:

DRAWINGS, PART ONE — an assortment of character sketches, without comment.
DRAWINGS, PART TWO — ships and creatures; notes on betel-chewing and fire-making.
HANTU! — essays about Malaysian ghosts, and about living in such a haunted geography.

11 booklets, staple-bound softcover, A5 size, color cover, black and white interior. Includes PDF bundle.

Essentially it is the same as above. We adore all of you and strive to give you the best possible customer experience possible but inventory tracking not only for us but for our vendors and partners makes this almost impossible to do now.

PRE-ORDERED ITEMS

Pre-order dates are subject to change. We get as frustrated as you do when things come up but this happens from time to time. Sometimes circumstances beyond our control will create delays. We try to communicate via social media and our weekly newsletter to keep everyone as up to date as possible.

All items in an order containing pre-orders will ship with the pre-order item once it is in stock. If you would like the other items earlier, please place a seperate order from the one containing the pre-order.

We cannot combine pre-orders with existing orders nor combine new orders with existing pre-orders.

Pre-orders will be exempt from any type of general sale.
